　　From the chart given above, we can observe that the number of people traveling abroadexperienced some changes during the past several years. From 1993 to 2003, the number ofChinese people choosing overseas destinations for their holidays increased rapidly from lessthan 5 million to 20 million, and then to 70 million in 2011.

　　What exactly contribute to this phenomenon? Reasons can be listed as follows: for onething, the authorities have issued some preferential policies to promote the development of theoverseas tourism industry, which encourages a sudden emergence of travel agencies that canprovide customers with convenient overseas tourism services. For another, with theimprovement of financial status and purchasing power, a considerable number of Chinesepeople can afford the once-deemed-expensive traveling expenses.
