Directions : For this part, you are allowed 30 minutes to write a letter to a foreign friend who wants to learn Chinese. Please recommend a place to him. You should write at least 120words but no more than 180words.

Dear Sam，

         How is everything going? I am happy to hear that you have the idea to learn Chinese , so I am writing this letter to offer my suggestions.

         I know you are wondering about the right place to start your Chinese learning. Beijing would be my top recommendation.  The most important reason is the famous foreign language teaching institution, New Oriental, is located in Beijing. There, you can find many brilliant teachers to teach you how to speak and write Chinese. Next, Beijing is not only the capital of China, but also an international city around world. People there are friendly and willing to help foreigners.  I can’t imagine any rejection if you want to start a conversation with them to practice Chinese. Besides, there are many museums in Beijing. I know how much you like the historical stories in China. So, in my opinion , Beijing is the most appropriate choice for you.

        It would be my pleasure if you take my suggestion into consideration. Hope to see you in Beijing!

           本次作文要求学生给想学习中文的外国朋友写一封信，信件上次出现是在2016年6月份的四级考试。话题难度相对较低，与之前的出现过的外国人来中国旅游的信件话题上类似。考前讲信件写作的时候也给同学们说过，如果遇到给外国人写信做推荐的时候，可以选择北京，这样会比较好些。考生还需要注意的是，信件的格式。开头的称呼，题目里面说到的是朋友，所以正文开头可以简单的问候。正文第二段进行推荐，要有理由。最后一段可以表达一下如果自己的建议被采纳会很高兴。信件结尾不要忘记署名。
